My name is Emi. I am a squatter
from London, perhaps not a filthy one, but my friend keeps calling me this way
and so I adopted this nick as a blog theme. For the time being I am staying in
Indonesia, North Jakarta to be precise, where I am volunteering at
semi-military school for future seamen.
I applied for volunteering when I
had been unemployed for a while and few days after I was accepted on chosen
voluntary project I got a call from a courier company I had prayed to work for.
So there I was, back to business, riding everyday with great people, having
constant fun on ‘The Corner’, meeting new people, going to courier events,
joking with my controller and basically loving every aspect of my work (well,
almost every, as dealing with grumpy guys from loading bays is never fun). I
lived with few close friends, with my beloved cat and most of all I had a
lovely, spacious room. Living a dream, living a dream…
I left it all behind me, my
perfect London life and decided to come to Indonesia for three months. Just to discover ‘the unknown’ and to fulfil
my primary goal of coming to Britain, which
was ‘6 months of saving money then 6 months in South East Asia’. Years
go by and I have impression that I haven’t fulfilled my little plan yet, though
I do travel quite often and quite far. Leaving London for a few months was darn
hard, but the decision has been made and I know that in perspective this travel
would be more beneficial than staying in autumnal London.
Here I am then, trying to start
another non extraordinary blog. I pay attention to detail and, show rather
shallow way of seeing the world around and keep finding funny things. If you
are interested in what Indonesia has to offer on a daily basis, follow this
blog. I may switch to Polish sometimes, but will try to make up for that with
ludicrous and silly pictures. Enjoy.
